Choosing a Location for Your Energy Healing Practice
Deciding where to set-up your energy healing practice is a crucial decision for energy healers.
If you’re like most energy healers, you started off practicing at home on family and friends. Then, you began investing in equipment and supplies so you could work from home as well as visiting clients in their homes.
While being able to practice your energy healing from a home-based office is a dream come true for many practitioners, the convenience comes with constraints:
· Having a private space, separate from the living area of your home, that is dedicated just to healing is challenging for many practitioners.
· Residential zoning issues and restrictions may prohibit you from having a business in your home.
· You’ll need to have a private entrance for your clients, so they aren’t traipsing through your living room.
· Making sure there’s easily accessed parking for your clients can be problematic.
· Clients may not feel comfortable coming to your home.
For those reasons, many energy healers explore options of working out of other, already established locations. Since energy-healing sessions are offered in hospitals, nursing homes, as part of Hospice programs, in pain management clinics, and in spas, many energy healers prefer working from a location.
But what about those who want to actually set up a practice of their own? With a storefront. How do they go about doing that?
How to Find the Best Location for Your Energy Healing Practice
As they say in real estate, “it’s all about location, location, location.”
If you’re preparing to open an energy healing practice with a storefront, making sure your practice is in the best location for it to thrive is the single most important thing you can do.
Three tips for success:
1. Find a commercial district for your practice.
A commercial district or commercial zone is any part of a town or city in which the primary land use is for commercial activities. That means you’ll be looking for a place that is zoned for shops, offices, theatres, restaurants, etc.
Whether you intend to purchase land and build your energy healing practice upon it, or purchase or lease something that is already built, you’ll need to make sure it is zoned for commercial uses.
This will require you to enlist the help of a real estate agent. Someone who specializes in commercial property. To start exploring yourself, the Commercial Investment Multiple Listing Service (CIMLS) is the leading online commercial real estate data resource in the U.S. Although limited to the U.S. there are similar online resources available for other places in the world.

2. Get a demographic overview of the area.
Before you go building a site or signing a lease, you’ll want to make sure that there will be plenty of people trafficking the area. People who would be interested in frequenting an energy healing practice.
Making this determination can be as simple as sitting at a café across from your potential business site with a cup of coffee and watch who ‘traffics’ the area, or as complex as hiring a professional to do it for you.
A middle ground is to invest in a location analysis tool such as Maptitude. Maptitude is a powerful combination of site mapping software and geographic data that will provide much of what you need to know about the demographics of your potential storefront location.

3. Be as close to your biggest competitor as you can be.
I know, that sounds counter-intuitive, doesn’t it? Many experts agree that the answer to where you should locate your energy healing practice is as close as possible to your biggest competitor.
Why?
Because they’ve already done most of the work for you!
Your competitor chose their location based on the ideal demographics of that particular area. They’ve already spent a lot of money advertising and driving traffic to their healing practice. Why spend money that’s already been spent for you?
Competition is good. It breeds more business and more traffic for both healing practices. If you feel confident enough that you can provide services that will meet or outsell your competition, then go for it.
While having enough foot traffic is imperative, making sure the ‘right’ customer traffics your area is far more crucial.
Choosing a location for your energy healing practice is a big decision. While there are many things to consider, it is an exciting decision to open a storefront location and call it yours. Take your time. Consider these three tips for success, and remember, “it’s all about location, location, location.”
